The coastline of Riviera di Levante boasts an extraordinary series of towns with a number of points of interest often overlooked by normal tourist offerings.

Chiavari is a perfect example and is well known for its rich ambience and calendar, starting with the Mercatino dell'Antiquariato, the monthly antiques market. Its richness is also demonstrated by the stark elegance of its churches and public buildings, from the cathedral – formerly the sanctuary of Nostra Signora dell’Orto – to Palazzo Rocca, a residence dating back to the 17th/18th century and now housing the Archaeological Museum and Civic Art Gallery.
